Taylor Johnson is proud to announce it worked with executives from two clients on their nominations and recent recognition to Crain’s Chicago Business’ 2020 Notable Women in Construction and Design list — Ann Thompson, AIA, senior vice president of architecture and design for Related Midwest, and Kate Ivanova, vice president of James McHugh Construction.
As lead principal for Related Midwest’s design and planning, Thompson was recognized for mentoring and creating opportunities for women in the male-dominated fields of construction and building design, and for overseeing the design vision for The 78 — a 62-acre, mixed-use riverfront development — and market-defining residential projects such as the ultra-luxury One Bennett Park; the historic Lathrop, reimagined as a mixed-income riverfront community; and Taylor Street Apartments at Roosevelt Square, with co-location of mixed-income apartments and a public library.
McHugh Construction Vice President Ivanova was recognized for growing the firm’s hospitality division and for mentoring and promoting women. She has overseen the renovations of some of Chicago’s most luxurious hotels, including The Ritz Carlton Chicago, The Peninsula Chicago, the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago and the Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile. Crain’s also recognized Ivanova for her community engagement as a board member of ReVive Center for Housing & Healing.
