Fifteen Fifty On The Park Hits Historical Milestone With Completion Of Restored Facade

October 1, 2019

On the heels of its topping-off earlier this summer, Taylor Johnson client Fifteen Fifty on the Park recently celebrated another construction milestone: the restoration of the Village Theater facade, which serves as the entrance to the new 32-residence condominium development, scheduled to deliver later this year. The TJ team knew those that follow historic preservation in the city would be impressed with the meticulous work completed by structural engineering firm Klein & Hoffman, which led the restoration for co-developers Golub & Company, CIM Group and Avoda Group. We offered photos of the project to the Chicago Architecture Blog, whose editor discussed the rich history of the brick and terra cotta exterior, which dates back more than a century and was designated a Chicago landmark in 2009. Read the full story here.

The German-influenced ornaments that adorn the restored facade at Fifteen Fifty on the Park in the Gold Coast are some of the few remaining examples of colored terra cotta in Chicago.
