Going Hyperlocal: 5 Brokerages Ingraining Themselves In Their Neighborhoods

September 9, 2019

Baird & Warner has been a part of Chicago’s neighborhoods for 164 years — so it follows that many of its agents feel a civic duty to be active in their communities. When Inman was looking for examples of how real estate brokerages become part of the fabric of their neighborhoods, Taylor Johnson provided the writer with examples of how Baird & Warner’s Edgebrook office is truly an extension of the Northwest Side neighborhood. The article touched on everything from the office hosting meetings for neighborhood organizations with catering from local restaurants to an agent who moderates the popular Edgebrook chapter of the Nextdoor social media networking site. And after a number of women in Edgebrook were diagnosed with breast cancer, one agent started the Paint Edgebrook Pink 5K, which will mark its 10th anniversary this fall and raises tens of thousands of dollars each year.

Baird & Warner agent Linda Kramer helped start an annual 5K in Edgebrook to raise money to help find a cure for breast cancer.
