Nearly a week after its premiere, Chicagoans are still buzzing about “Chicagoland,” a new documentary series that tells the story of Chicago by profiling some of its outspoken leaders and unsung heroes. Produced by Robert Redford, the eight-part series has garnered both praise and criticism for its depiction of major events like last year’s controversial school closings and highly publicized crime wave. Crain’s Chicago Business put together a recap of what critics and viewers are saying about the first episode, which aired last Thursday on CNN.
Be sure to catch this week’s episode this Thursday at 9 p.m. CT. If you missed the premiere, you can watch in full here.
