76-Story Skyscraper Launches South Loop Resurgence
One of the city’s most anticipated residential skyscrapers recently received approval by the Chicago Plan Commission, kicking off what is expected to be a major resurgence of the South Loop neighborhood. Taylor Johnson client Crescent Heights announced the first phase of 1200 S. Indiana, formerly referred to as 113 E. Roosevelt, will feature a 76-story, 829-foot rental tower designed by Rafael Viñoly Architects. Subsequent phases are proposed to include a 648-unit residential tower connected at the base of the phase-one tower, as well as a 100-unit development. Stay tuned to TJ Talk for more details on the development, which is anticipated to begin construction in late 2016.
