CHICAGO (Oct. 3, 2018)M&R Development, with Bucksbaum Retail Properties, recently celebrated the grand opening of The Residences at Addison & Clark, a 148-unit luxury apartment complex located at 1025 W. Addison St., across from Wrigley Field in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood.

The residences comprise the upper floors of Addison & Clark, a mixed-use transit-oriented development (TOD) that will soon offer diverse shopping and entertainment options to complement the area’s sports-centric background. The apartments, managed by Chicago-based RMK Management, welcomed its first residents last month.

“We are thrilled to celebrate the grand opening of The Residences at Addison & Clark, marking an important milestone in the resurgence of this historic intersection,” said Anthony Rossi, Sr., president of M&R Development and chairman of RMK Management, as he addressed a crowd on the rooftop patio of the building on Sept. 20.

“The realization of The Residences at Addison & Clark is a result of our strategic partnership with Bucksbaum Retail Properties to develop the property and curate the experiential retail and entertainment partners that will turn this corner into a year-round attraction for residents and visitors alike,” Rossi continued. “This development would not have been possible without the support of the Lakeview neighborhood and 44th Ward Alderman, Tom Tunney. Additionally, we owe a debt of gratitude to the extended project team, including our architects, Solomon Cordwell Buenz, and builder, Power Construction.”

More than 150 guests attended the grand opening celebration, including Tom Ricketts, chairman of the board of the Chicago Cubs, and 44th Ward Alderman Tom Tunney. The event included tours of the model residences and baseball-themed amenity spaces, including the Upper Deck, a rooftop deck with pool, spa and grilling stations; the Training Zone, a state-of-the-art fitness center; the Diamond Lounge, an indoor residential retreat with community kitchen; and the Bullpen, an outdoor dog park.

“The Addison & Clark development represents the bold, forward-thinking vision the Lakeview neighborhood needs as it moves forward,” said 44th Ward Alderman Tom Tunney during the event. “M&R Development and Bucksbaum have not only invested money to activate this corner, they are committed to being good neighbors as well. Their initial contribution, combined with a matching donation from the Chicago Park District and a donation from the Cubs organization, spurred the redevelopment of a neighborhood park – Juniper Playlot Park at the corner of Waveland and Greenview – into a nature-inspired community green space for all to enjoy.”

Addison & Clark retail and entertainment tenants also participated in the event with specialty food offerings, giveaways and exclusive offers for attendees. Do-Rite Donuts & Chicken offered guests a selection of artisanal donuts; Shake Shack provided cups of frozen custard; Baseballism showed off the latest in novelty sportswear; and Lucky Strike provided games and entertainment in the amenity space. Kilwins, the newest retailer to announce plans for Addison & Clark, provided chocolate bars from its line of gourmet confections.

“The excitement of the grand opening celebration is a direct reflection of what it is like to live in The Residences at Addison & Clark,” said John Bucksbaum, CEO of Bucksbaum Retail Properties. “By combining luxury rentals with new experiential entertainment and retail partners in the already-vibrant Lakeview neighborhood, located steps away from Wrigley Field, we’ve created a truly unique living, dining and entertainment experience.”

Floor plans at The Residences at Addison & Clark measure 501 to 1,409 square feet and include studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments ranging from $1,980 to $4,510. Residences feature floor-to-ceiling windows, hardwood floors in living areas, quartz countertops and stainless steel appliances in kitchens, sizable walk-in closets and in-unit laundry. Residential lobby offerings include a Luxer One package delivery system, coolers for perishable deliveries and Pressbox dry cleaning service.

The transit-oriented development is located just a block west of the CTA’s Red line and is steps away from several major bus routes. Additionally, the property provides electric car charging stations, a complimentary bike sharing system with personal bike storage, and TransitScreen technology to provide real-time mobility information, along with 64 private indoor parking spaces for residents and a public garage with 341 spaces.
