Due to the pandemic, the topping off of the first building at the $200 million Ogden Commons development took place without the usual celebration in late April. However, Taylor Johnson clients The Habitat Company and James McHugh Construction Co. still wanted to acknowledge the hard work that resulted in hitting this milestone on time and on budget. Team TJ spread the word about the placing of the last piece of steel on phase one of the Opportunity Zone project that, upon completion, will bring 120,000 square feet of commercial and retail space and more than 350 mixed-income housing units to Chicago’s North Lawndale neighborhood. The news ran in a number of outlets, from RE Journals and Connect Chicago to Bisnow Chicago and Commercial Construction & Renovation People.

The Habitat Company, McHugh Construction and Bowa Construction recently announced the topping off of a 50,000-square-foot office and retail building at Ogden Commons.
