Chicago-based Fifield Cos. today announced the opening of its anchor tenant, a 27,000-square-foot small-format Target store, at Logan Apartments, the 220-unit mixed-use development located at 2480-2252 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Chicago’s Logan Square neighborhood.
“The community has anxiously awaited the opening of Target,” said Lindsey Senn, executive vice president at Fifield Cos., which co-developed Logan Apartments with Terraco Real Estate. “Bringing a retailer like Target to an area underserved by stores that offer a robust selection of groceries and everyday essentials enhances the convenience of living in Logan Square for the residents at Logan Apartments and the neighborhood as a whole.”
A mix of other national and local stores and restaurants have also signed leases for the ground-floor retail space at Logan Apartments, including Jeni’s Ice Cream, Pure Barre, Verizon, Aligned Modern Health and a new concept from one of Chicago’s top restaurant groups. Big Wig Tacos and K-Fire Korean BBQ have already opened.
Logan Apartments opened in March and features studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments with luxury finishes like high ceilings, plank flooring, gourmet kitchens, in-unit laundry and walk-in closets with organizational systems. Situated on the site of the former Mega Mall, Logan Apartments, designed by Antunovich Associates, was designed to blend in with the neighborhood with its brick exterior and dark trim. The developers also incorporated salvaged materials from the Mega Mall, in addition to works from Chicago-based artists, decorative fixtures and finishes from local artisans, and antiques sourced from neighborhood shops.
Because of its location along the Milwaukee Avenue bike corridor, Logan Apartments provides amenities for cycling commuters and enthusiasts including a secure bike room and a bike kitchen for maintenance and repairs. Other amenities include a landscaped sun terrace with a pool, cabanas, grilling stations, fire pit, lounge areas and a dog run; resident lounge, party room and coffee bar; fitness club with state-of-the-art equipment; and dedicated coworking space with a conference center.
An indoor parking garage is available for both Target shoppers and residents, while an adjacent surface lot provides ample parking for visitors to Logan Apartments and the variety of retail offerings within the mixed-use project. Logan Apartments is conveniently located one block from the CTA Logan Square Blue Line and near multiple bus routes.
