While many cultural outlets are shuttered or have moved online due to COVID-19,renters at Aspire ResidencesTaylor Johnson client Draper and Kramer, Incorporated’s new 24-story apartment tower in the South Loop, have direct access to art via a new artist-in-residence program. As explained in a Chicago Tribune profile secured by TJ, Draper and Kramer selected local artist Canary Garcia, a recent art school graduate, for a year-long residency at the recently opened property. In exchange for an apartment, studio space and art supplies, Garcia will create art for Aspire’s public spaces and amenity areas, helping to communicate the unique aesthetic and personality of the building. The story also was covered by other outlets, including Chicago Architecture and Chicago Agent Magazine. Read the Tribune story here.
