Since its inception, community has been an integral part of the identity of Taylor Johnson client Porte, a new two-tower rental development in Chicago’s West Loop developed by LendleaseThe John Buck Company and partner Intercontinental Real Estate Corporation. In an effort to extend this connectivity beyond the community’s four walls, Porte enlisted B_Line Projects to transform the building’s eastern facade into a vibrant, full-block mural. The hybrid composition weaves together the talents and unique vision of several local artists, including Shawn Michael Warren, Anne Barthes, Anna Murphy and CERA, celebrating the West Loop’s rich history, culture and diversity, as well as the woman who put the neighborhood on the map: Oprah Winfrey.

On Thursday, Nov. 12, Porte will unveil the completed mural on Instagram (@PorteChi) with a video highlighting the artists’ inspiration and process, as well as share a special video message from Oprah herself. Follow @PorteChi on Instagram to see it all.
