Growing up in Buffalo, NY, Madeline Hardy didn’t picture herself having a career in public relations. But after her aunt suggested it could be a great fit for her, Madeline jumped in with both feet. She earned her BA from the State University of New York College at Buffalo in public communications before beginning her career with a marketing and communications agency in Buffalo.

In March 2021, the opportunity arose to move to Chicago with her boyfriend, who had accepted a new position in the Windy City. The couple found an apartment virtually, due to Covid, and have made the Portage Park neighborhood home – for now. “We have fun exploring all the different Chicago neighborhoods, so who knows where we’ll live next!”

When she isn’t busy helping the TJ team with any and everything for our clients, she enjoys cooking, travel and – as a true Buffalo native! – football. (“Go Bills!”)

BEYOND THE BIO

With Taylor Johnson since: August 2022.

The best professional advice I received was: Fake it until you make it.

Three words that describe me are: curious, friendly, driven

When I was growing up I thought I’d be: A veterinarian – although I never had a pet growing up. I was an avid viewer of the Animal Planet.

I never thought I’d be: In this profession. Approaching college, I had no idea what I wanted to do. My aunt suggested majoring in public relations and I never looked back!

Last good book I read: “Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine”

On my iPod: Everything and anything – I like to hop around decades and genres.

My favorite app: YouTube.

Favorite pastime: Sarcastically a good football tailgate (Go Bills!) Realistically – visiting Maine in the summer.

What I like most about Taylor Johnson: The clients.

The worst job I ever had: Working at a Victoria’s Secret at a mall over the holidays for extra money in college. I was already working two jobs at the time and lasted just over a month – I haven’t stepped foot in a mall on Black Friday since.

My guilty pleasure: Watching the Golden Girls.
