Shawn Clark appointed CEO and Chris McKee to President as firm continues expanding throughout North America

CRG, the Chicago-based real estate development and investment management firm, today announced changes to its executive leadership team to support continued growth and expansion into new U.S. markets. Shawn Clark, formerly President, was appointed to the role of Chief Executive Officer of the firm. At the same time, Chris McKee, who previously served as Chief Development Officer, will assume the role of President. The elevation of both leaders will further strengthen the internal infrastructure needed to manage the firm’s rapid scale of growth, including the opening of eight regional offices and completion of over $2B in transactions annually.

Clark’s new role as CEO reflects his continued focus on the company’s long-term vision, strategy and overall direction. Clark will remain deeply engaged with the firm’s growing investment management platform, which is a key part of CRG’s growth strategy. He will work closely with McKee, Chief Operating Officer Steve Schnur, and all departments to deliver exceptional industrial, office, multifamily, student housing and mixed-use assets for clients and investors while fostering a supportive, inclusive and rewarding work environment for all team members.

McKee’s new role as President recognizes his significant contributions to the organization. With over two decades of commercial real estate experience, McKee has a proven track record of identifying and executing on lucrative real estate development opportunities. In his new role, he will continue to oversee the entire development deal flow, providing strategic direction, fostering relationships with stakeholders and driving the company’s continued growth and expansion.

Clark and McKee will work closely with Schnur, who seamlessly integrated into CRG’s team as Chief Operating Officer last month, to guide the firm’s strategic growth and continued expansion of its real estate development and investment activities across North America. Schnur will also play an important role in enhancing the firm’s internal processes pertaining to acquisitions, development, leasing, asset management and property management.

“We are excited about the changes to our executive leadership team and confident these changes will allow us to better serve our clients and investors,” said Clark. “We feel fortunate to have such a talented and dedicated team at CRG and are confident that, together, we will achieve even greater success in the future.”

CRG was founded in 1993 as the real estate services division of Clayco, Inc. The firm touts vertical integration as a key differentiator, benefiting from the design-build services of Clayco and the in-house architectural services of LJC. CRG has established a national industrial development platform, marketed as The Cubes, that has served many nationally recognized brands and Fortune 500 companies. In 2018, CRG launched its first fund vehicle, U.S. Logistics Fund I, and subsequently, in 2021, U.S. Logistics Fund II, to invest in the development of logistics assets in core markets throughout the United States. Additionally, CRG has built dedicated and experienced teams to lead its student housing, multifamily, office and mixed-use developments across geographically diverse markets.
