Marshall Bennett Institute of Real Estate at Roosevelt University (MBIRE) announced today it celebrated its graduates in a spring commencement ceremony on Friday, May 5, at the Auditorium Theater at Roosevelt University. MBIRE also reported 92% of its graduates of undergraduate and graduate degree programs in real estate over the 2022-2023 academic year had secured employment in the real estate industry upon graduation, despite current economic challenges.
“Our programs, curriculum and experiential learning give undergraduates a head start in understanding the industry and help graduates enhance their current experience, which leads to more successful outcomes,” said Collete English Dixon, executive director of MBIRE. “Their learning curve is shorter, they can be engaged with the company they’re working with faster, and that is important to the industry.”
The 2022-2023 academic year saw 12 students graduate from MBIRE, including five receiving a bachelor’s degree and seven receiving a master’s degree.
Some of the most notable real estate companies in the U.S. tap MBIRE for employees because of the program’s excellence. The graduate program also has the most diverse student body of any in the country, according to English Dixon, with 57% of this year’s graduating master’s students being minorities. This year’s graduates are employed by a wide range of local and global real estate firms, including Related Management Company, Prologis, JLL, CBRE, Reed Construction, The Missner Group and Zacks Investment Research.
MBIRE’s programs include an undergraduate major in real estate as part of a bachelor’s in business administration, two graduate certificate programs in commercial real estate and two graduate degree programs: a Master of Science in real estate and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in real estate. In addition, real estate is a specialty concentration in Roosevelt University’s Master’s in Business Analytics, a new degree program launching in fall 2023.
MBIRE is now accepting applications for the 2023-2024 academic year. For more information, visit www.roosevelt.edu/centers/real-estate or email Collete English Dixon at cenglishdixon@roosevelt.edu.
