New home sites include enclave of 15 ranch villas featuring low-maintenance single-level living and 86 raw single-family lots

M/I Homes, one of the top homebuilders in the Chicagoland area, announces it has closed on a land deal that will grow its offering at the established Hawthorn Woods Country Club community in Hawthorn Woods, Ill. The acquisition includes 15 developed home sites that form The Villas at Hawthorn Woods, an enclave of ranch villas set against the backdrop of an Arnold Palmer-designed golf course, as well as 86 raw single-family home sites. This follows two separate deals in 2023 through which M/I Homes acquired all remaining developed single-family home site inventory at Hawthorn Woods Country Club, where home sales first began in 2005 under a different builder before going dormant between 2011 and 2022.

Champine noted homes at The Villas at Hawthorn Woods not only offer buyers the latest features and finishes of a brand-new home – setting them apart from older, existing inventory in Hawthorn Woods – but also a unique location as they are situated within the well-established Hawthorn Woods Country Club community. “They will have an instant neighborhood feel, with the added appeal of being set against the backdrop of a beautiful golf course,” he said. “And, with the very limited number of homes we’re building at The Villas at Hawthorn Woods, they will certainly be a noteworthy opportunity in the Lake County housing market.”

Located north of the intersection of Gilmer and Midlothian roads, The Villas at Hawthorn Woods will offer two- to three-bedroom floor plans with open living space and flexibility to create features such as home offices and guest rooms.
