Inspired by California hospitality, the luxury residential community offers seamless indoor-outdoor living with an acre of open space, restorative amenities and vibrant neighborhood attractions

Lendlease, a leading real estate and investment group, today announced the start of pre-leasing and revealed new renderings at Habitat Residences, a 12-story, 260-unit multifamily community opening this spring within the firm’s Habitat mixed-use development in Los Angeles.

Located at 3411 S. La Cienega Blvd., Habitat Residences includes a mix of studio, one- and two-bedroom layouts. The property will also feature penthouses on the top two floors, each with a private balcony or terrace.

“With a sophisticated, hospitality-focused design rooted in California’s distinctive character, Habitat Residences offers more than just a place to live but a place of connection and rejuvenation,” said Ryan Burton, director of development and senior vice president, Lendlease. “From the lobby to the amenities and within every residence, each space is thoughtfully curated for elegance and ease, creating a serene, bespoke community where residents can relax, recharge and thrive.”

Conceptualized by Kelly Wearstler and brought into being by Jules Wilson Design Studio, the residence and amenity interiors integrate organic materials and earthen tones inspired by the Southern California setting to create a tranquil environment. Within the amenity and common spaces are hand-carved wood applications, Serafini marble flooring, fluted glass panels, handmade tiles and richly textured walls.

Individual apartments will feature a range of upscale finishes, including quartz countertops, full quartz backsplashes and zellige-style bathroom tilework. Reflecting the forms and color palette of the nearby Baldwin Hills, cabinetry will feature olive green, pebble, mushroom and powder blush hues, with rounded detailing and softly curved corners that mirror the landscape. Prioritizing connection to nature, each residence will feature full-height windows with sweeping ocean, skyline and hillside views as well as breathtaking California sunsets, with balconies or oversized terraces featured in 95% of units.

Amenities have been curated to prioritize resident comfort and hospitality. The elevated resort-style deck features an outdoor pool and spa with shaded cabanas, grilling stations and al fresco dining areas. Residents can enjoy open-air training sessions with movable equipment in the community’s indoor-outdoor fitness center, accessible via operable NanaWall folding glass walls.

A rooftop terrace, coworking lounge, social lounge, media room and library serve as functional extensions of each home. Residents can also take advantage of a pet spa and dog run, dedicated storage and a fleet of Habitat-branded e-bikes that encourage sustainable mobility. Resident arrival is elevated through a porte-cochère, paired with concierge services inspired by California’s most celebrated boutique hotels. In the dining room, programming such as chef demonstrations, wine tastings and seasonal pop-ups further enrich the hospitality-inspired lifestyle.

Designed by Los Angeles-based landscape architecture firm RELM, Habitat’s acre of pet-friendly landscaped open space features distinct areas that balance personal retreat with community interaction. With Whole Foods across the street and direct access to multimodal transit, the site is optimized for neighborhood activation and effortless travel to greater Los Angeles.

“Living at Habitat Residences, located in the geographic heart of Los Angeles, means being connected to the everyday rhythm of a more seamless LA lifestyle,” said Burton. “From the beach to downtown and all points in between, including Culver City, residents have easy access by foot, bike, train or car to the destinations that matter most.”

Designed by SHoP Architects, the mixed-use campus includes a 260,000-square-foot creative office building immediately east of Habitat Residences. Like the residential component, the office building features rounded corners and setbacks inspired by the nearby Baldwin Hills, as well as a fluted metal façade in a green hue. With interiors by A+I, the office component of the commercial building includes 40,000- to 50,000-square-foot floor plates, 14-foot floor-to-floor heights and private terraces. Amenities include a bicycle end-of-trip facility, gym, yoga room, locker room with showers and 2,900 square feet of retail and restaurant space on the ground floor.

Habitat, which is expected to be net zero carbon in construction and operations, includes an all-electric design, 66 dedicated electric vehicle parking stations, 222 secure bike parking spaces, natural ventilation and lower-carbon concrete. Habitat Residences is targeting LEED Gold certification, while the commercial building is targeting LEED Platinum certification.
