Limited appointment-only opportunities now available as part of exclusive pre-sales preview
Representatives from M/I Homes, one of the top homebuilders in the Chicagoland area, gathered May 4 with village officials from Buffalo Grove, Ill., to celebrate the groundbreaking for Highbury Club, a new development of 33 new-construction single-family homes in the popular northwest suburb. The groundbreaking signaled the start of land development for the 9-acre community that is located at 301 Weiland Road, within top-rated Adlai E. Stevenson High School District 125 and central to multiple retail corridors, transportation arteries and nearby employment opportunities.
“We’ve already had an amazing response from prospects joining our interest list since we officially announced Highbury Club earlier this year, which goes to show how in-demand this area is thanks to its award-winning schools and many nearby amenities and conveniences – not to mention how rare new-construction single-family home options are in this location,” said Rick Champine, area president of M/I Homes. “Now that land development is underway, we’re excited to also announce the start of pre-sales for Highbury Club, with planned first deliveries in early 2027. We expect sales to go fast with only 33 homes available, so those in the market for a brand-new home in this prime area will need to act quickly.”
As part of its pre-sales kickoff, M/I Homes is now offering a limited number of private, by-appointment sessions that allow prospects to select a lot and floor plan as part of the builder’s first release of home sites. To secure an appointment, interested buyers can contact saleschicago@mihomes.com or visit www.mihomes.com/highburyclub.
Highbury Club will offer three designs from M/I Homes’ Classic Series floor plans, with five different exterior elevations. Priced from $749,990, the two-story homes will measure 2,300 to 2,700 square feet and have three to four bedrooms, open concept living areas, flex spaces, full basements and attached two-car garages. Two of the available floor plans will offer a loft, providing additional flexibility for a secondary living area, an extra bedroom or space for remote work. The designs also offer practical features many buyers prioritize such as mudrooms, second-floor laundry and kitchen islands.
“These homes are configured so floor plans can really adapt to each buyer’s lifestyle, with flexible spaces that can be turned into a study area for high school students, additional living space for multigenerational households, or a home office for those with hybrid work schedules,” said Cheryl Bonk, vice president of sales and marketing for M/I Homes. “And in addition to offering those modern, flexible floor plan elements today’s buyers are looking for, Highbury Club is more intimate in size than other new-construction developments with its 33 homes, which will give the community a true neighborhood feeling residents will appreciate and enjoy.”
Residents of Highbury Club will have convenient access to multiple shopping and dining options along McHenry and Lake Cook roads. The community is an eight-minute drive from Interstate 294, providing easy access to neighboring suburbs, and a five-minute drive from the Buffalo Grove train station, which offers service to downtown Chicago’s Union Station via Metra’s North Central Service line.
In addition to Stevenson High School, Highbury Club will be served by Earl Pritchett Elementary School, Meridian School and Aptakisic Junior High School, which are part of Aptakisic-Tripp Community Consolidated School District 102. Residents of the community can take advantage of multiple recreational offerings in the surrounding area including Buffalo Grove Golf Club, Buffalo Creek Forest Preserve and Lake County Forest Preserve, in addition to multiple Buffalo Grove Park District facilities and the nearby Family Aquatic Center at Heritage Park in neighboring Wheeling. The community is also a short drive from the Deer Park Town Center shopping center in Deer Park, as well as historic downtown Long Grove, which offers a mix of boutique stores and restaurants.

Homes at all M/I Homes communities come standard with the builder’s industry-leading 10-Year Transferable Structural Warranty, which allows buyers to purchase with confidence and adds value if the home is sold in the future. All homes are also Whole Home certified, an M/I Homes designation indicating the builder’s superior approach when constructing homes. Upon testing, an M/I home will receive a more favorable HERS® Index (Home Energy Rating System) than an Energy Star-certified home, which can save buyers upwards of 30 percent on their energy bills. A lower HERS Index means lower energy costs, and on average an M/I home achieves a HERS Index of 62, considerably lower than other resale homes and other builders in the market.
