Presidential Towers Now Chicago’s Largest Smoke-Free Rental Community
As it prepares to host the American Lung Association’s annual “Fight for Air Climb” this Sunday, Presidential Towers has achieved a timely milestone: the 2,346-unit apartment community is now 100 percent smoke-free, making it the largest rental property in Chicago to prohibit smoking in all residences and common areas. Taylor Johnson client Waterton Associates, which owns and manages the community, discussed the transition in this DNAinfo Chicago story.
This marks the seventh time Presidential Towers has hosted the stair climb, Chicago’s largest with 2,340 steps and 180 floors. This year’s event is expected to draw nearly 2,000 participants, including U.S. Senator Mark Kirk and his military veteran “Battle Buddies,” cast and crew of “Chicago Fire,” and real Chicago firefighters who do the climb in full gear.
