If your plans for this New Year include a new home, a few local builders have move-in-ready homes to help make that happen. From townhomes to single-family homes – and even newly-built vacation properties – here are homes that are ready for buyers to move in to now:

Maintenance-free townhomes at Arbor Lane in Arlington Heights
Buyers looking for a new townhome for the New Year can choose from two at Red Seal Homes’ Arbor Lane community in Arlington Heights. Two townhomes in the newly released Phase Two of the community are ready for immediate move in.

The first townhome is a three-story, 1,719-square-foot Brunswick plan with three bedrooms, 2½ baths and an attached two-car garage. The home also features a lower level flex room, eat-in kitchen, second-level laundry and the option to create a den using a portion of the living room. “This is one of our most popular plans because it offers three bedrooms all on the same level, plus the ability to create a den for a playroom, home office or separate spot for watching TV,” said Brian Hoffman, an executive with Red Seal Homes.

Also offering three bedrooms is the Dover plan. It measures more than 1,740 square feet and also has 2½ baths, a lower level flex room, second-level laundry, an eat-in kitchen and an attached two-car garage. Both the Brunswick and the Dover plans also include private outdoor space with a storage shed.

Each townhome comes standard with a partial brick façade, site-finished hardwood flooring throughout the main living areas, and modern kitchens with stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and Aristocraft® furniture-quality cabinetry.

Arbor Lane is located about a half-mile from shopping and dining destinations at the intersection of Arlington Heights and Rand roads and a short drive from Arlington Lake Park. The community is also less than a 10-minute drive from two Metra stations, offering train service to downtown Chicago. Residents of the community are served by Arlington Heights School District 25.

Three eco-friendly single-family homes at Prairie Grossing in Grayslake
Naperville-based john greene Realtor, one of the largest privately held brokerage firms in Chicago’s western suburbs, is representing the sale of three immediate-delivery homes at Prairie Crossing, an established 677-acre conservation community located in Grayslake. According to Shane Halleman, broker at john greene Realtor, Prairie Crossing represents a rare opportunity to live in a truly environmentally friendly community. “While the homes at Prairie Crossing feature a variety of traditional architectural styles, each are more than 50-percent more energy efficient than comparable homes in the Chicago area,” he said.

Just an hour northwest of Chicago, Prairie Crossing offers a number of green amenities, including access to a 100-acre working organic farm, where residents can lease a garden plot to farm themselves, subscribe to receive produce deliveries, or visit the farm stand to purchase produce. Residents also have exclusive year-round access to Lake Aldo Leopold for fishing, swimming and ice skating, in addition to horseback riding, walking, biking or skiing on private trails within the community, as well as in the 5,800-acre Liberty Prairie Reserve, which is open to the public. Residents who own horses can access the Prairie Crossing Stable and adjoining pastures.

Nestled in a cul-de-sac a 3,870 square-foot, two-story colonial home with five-bedrooms and 2½ baths is available for immediate delivery. The home has been extensively rehabbed to include hand-scraped floors, granite countertops, and stainless steel appliances. It is listed for $429,900.

Located along Lake Aldo Leopold, a four-bedroom, 2-bath home is available. At 2,858 square feet, the home’s floor plan is among the community’s most popular, and is ideal for entertaining with a separate living room, great room, viewing hall, and spectacular views. The home is available for $450,000. A three-bedroom home is also available at 1,836-square-feet, with two bathrooms and a spacious deck. It is listed for $275,000.

Vacation home at Heritage Harbor Resort in Ottawa
Those whose plans for 2016 include purchasing a vacation home to enjoy with family and friends can choose from several immediate-delivery vacation cottages available at Heritage Harbor Ottawa Resort. Located in Ottawa along the Illinois River, within Starved Rock Country, the marina resort community is just 90 minutes from Chicago, making it an easy-to-reach second home destination for residents of the city and suburbs.

“Our homeowners appreciate that we’re close enough to Chicago that they can easily drive down for just a quick overnight trip, or even extend their weekend by leaving for work directly from Heritage Harbor on Monday morning,” said Tammy Barry, director of sales and marketing at Heritage Harbor Ottawa. “They also love that this area has recreational activities they can enjoy throughout the year, not just during warm-weather months. In fact, buyers who purchase one of our immediate delivery cottages can still experience winter in Starved Rock Country, where they can try out snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, or even just a wintertime trek through the woods.”

The immediate move-in homes include two cottages in Heritage Harbor’s Pelican’s Landing neighborhood.
