The Latest Luxury Apartment Amenity? A Private Co-Working Space
As high-profile employers like Google and McDonald’s have planted their flag downtown, apartment developers have sought near-office locations that facilitate the walk-to-work lifestyle today’s renters seek. Now, Taylor Johnson client Related Midwest is bringing the office to its residents with Landmark West Loop, its 300-unit luxury rental tower at 1035 W. Van Buren. The building’s Living Library, a reinterpretation of the WeWork model, is an expansive, light-filled co-working space tailored to the needs of modern work-from-home professionals. In addition to essentials like ultra-high-speed internet, the room will feature a roaring fireplace, long library tables, comfortable couches and lounge chairs, and bench seating along 15-foot windows that overlook the adjacent sundeck. Knowing the latest spin on co-working would have media appeal, we facilitated an interview with Crain’s Chicago Business.
