Englewood Construction, one of the country’s leading commercial construction firms, announces it has completed a 35,330-square-foot office build-out within Retail Properties of America’s Schaumburg Towers in Schaumburg, Ill. The space within the two-tower complex is the former headquarters of Zurich North America. Cincinnati-based Great American Insurance Group, which specializes in property and casualty insurance, relocated its Schaumburg location to the new two-floor space in June.

“Transforming this office space within Schaumburg Towers was a terrific project for us,” said William Di Santo, president of Lemont, Ill.-based Englewood Construction. “We’ve worked with Retail Properties of America on many of their shopping center developments across the country. The trust that comes from that longstanding relationship, paired with our firm’s diverse experience building out a variety of spaces, made Englewood a natural choice to be selected as the general contractor for this project.”

The new office space includes 51 offices and 104 work stations. The project also involved relocating a kitchen to accommodate a large break room and building out two smaller break rooms, as well as two office lounges, four conference rooms, three huddle rooms and a mother’s room. Chicago-based Funke Architects LLC was the project architect.
