Known for its ability to perfectly match a project’s design with its neighborhood, Taylor Johnson client KTGY Architecture + Planning recently unveiled Aperture, a 421-unit rental community in Reston, Va., developed by The Bozzuto Group and Veatch Commercial Real Estate. Located just 20 miles west of Washington, D.C., the project is one of the first residential communities developed near the new Wiehle-Reston East Metro station. Seeing an opportunity to shape the former industrial enclave’s new identity, KTGY designed Aperture as an urban-inspired community that complements the adjacent Reston Station mixed-use development through both form and function. Knowing KTGY’s vision for Aperture would lend itself to media coverage, TJ pitched and secured design snapshots of the project in Multi-Housing News and RestonNow.com.

KTGY Architecture + Planning sought to blur the line between urban and suburban living with Aperture, located just outside of Washington, D.C.
