When Taylor Johnson client Fifield Cos. set out to develop NEXT, a 28-story high-rise in River North, they knew they’d be facing an uphill battle. As is the case for much of River North, Goose Island, and the West Loop, the site for NEXT sits in a Planned Manufacturing District and was zoned for low density commercial and industrial use. Located at 347 W. Chestnut St., 28-story NEXT will offer studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom luxury rental units ranging from 462 to 1,727 square feet.
