My Block, My Hood, My City is a Chicago-based organization providing underprivileged youth with opportunities to grow, with a focus on empathy, hope and civic responsibility. Due to recent events, My Block, My Hood, My City has launched a fundraiser to support the rebuilding of small businesses that have been damaged during the civil unrest, particularly in under-resourced Black communities. Please join us in donating to the fundraiser or in lending your expertise as a volunteer. To help educate Chicagoans about racism in America and facilitate conversations among family members, the Chicago Public Library has compiled “Black Lives Matter” reading lists for adults, teens and children. Thrillist.com, Bucketlisters.com and NBC5 have also put together lists of additional educational resources, as well as other local and national organizations and businesses you can support.
