CA Ventures to Transform Vintage State Street Buildings
The city of Chicago recently selected Taylor Johnson client CA Ventures to redevelop two vintage office buildings in the city’s South Loop. The 22-story Consumers Building at 220 S. State St. and the 16-story Century Building at 202 S. State St., as well as two low-rise buildings at 212 and 214 S. State St., will be transformed into 429 apartments as part of the historic preservation project. Taylor Johnson worked closely with the city’s Department of Planning and Development to secure coverage in Crain’s Chicago Business, Chicago Tribune, DNAinfo Chicago, Curbed Chicago, REJournals.com and Chicago Architecture Blog. When complete, the $141 million development will include a mix of fully furnished studio and one-bedroom residences along with 270 micro apartments and 25,000 square feet of street-level retail.
