Taylor Johnson has extensive experience with elevating executives at the local, regional and national levels, in support of broader corporate objectives.

Since 2006, we have led PR efforts for Chicago-based Fifield Cos., which has experienced pivots in both market sector and executive leadership yet has consistently been tapped by the media for its expertise, regardless of what the firm is building, where it is developing or who is at the helm, thanks to Taylor Johnson’s guidance and messaging. In the beginning, we positioned Steve and Randy Fifield as a real estate power couple who put office development behind them to instead focus on Class A+ apartments. Fifield Cos. was ushering in a new era of luxury buildings in Chicago, so we showcased them as experts with trade, business and consumer press by securing corporate cover stories in outlets like Multifamily Executive and the Chicago Tribune, project profiles in Crain’s Chicago Business, and on multiple industry panels. If there was a story on Chicago’s apartment amenities arms race, Steve or Randy were likely quoted.

During the pandemic, the firm made a dramatic change in the C-suite. While the Fifields were still doing deals, Taylor Johnson was charged with introducing the firm’s next generation of voices as authorities in the rental sector. Through a series of high-profile placements that spotlighted the firm’s fresh take on apartment buildings as art, called out its strong female executive leadership in Crain’s “40 Under 40”, and recognized the power of industry podcasts, we didn’t miss a beat in continuing Fifield Cos.’ legacy as a thought leader in the industry, just with new faces at the table.

Another client that exemplifies Taylor Johnson’s capabilities with executive thought leadership is Lendlease. We began working with Lendlease’s Chicago team in 2018 and, a year later, helped the firm navigate a change in leadership for development operations. Resulting coverage included a feature in Crain’s Chicago Business that highlighted the longtime working relationship between the former and current heads of development, characterized the appointment as a “natural progression,” described how the company had broadened its focus beyond construction to development, and highlighted a robust pipeline of projects.

The success of the Chicago scope of work resulted in Taylor Johnson being named Lendlease’s national agency of record in 2021. One way we promoted the capabilities of the firm’s integrated platform – comprising its Development, Construction and Investments businesses – was by elevating the visibility of then-CEO Denis Hickey. Results included a cover story in the Commercial Observer, national profiles in trades like The Real Deal and Bisnow, and inclusion in trend-oriented pieces in the Wall Street Journal and other publications that put Lendlease’s projects – including a high-profile partnership with Ivanhoé Cambridge – into the context of the broader market. Some of the coverage secured, including stories in institutional publications like PEREIREI and IPE Real Assets, raised visibility not only in the U.S., but also Canada.
