When Taylor Johnson client Belgravia Group secured its construction permit for Renelle on the River, we knew the fact that it was the city’s 60th operational crane — a post-recession record — was sure to be a compelling story. In collaboration with the mayor’s office and Department of Buildings, we invited media to attend a press conference where Mayor Emanuel highlighted the 400 percent increase from 12 operational tower cranes in 2010, and the hundreds of jobs each tower crane creates. Local TV broadcasts covered the story, as did Loop North NewsChicago AgentChicago Architecture BlogBisnowREJournals.com, and The Real Deal. Construction is full steam ahead at Renelle on the River, which is currently 50 percent sold.

Alan Lev, president and CEO of Belgravia Group, Chicago Buildings Commissioner Judy Frydland, and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel mark the 60th tower crane to rise in Chicago this year.
