Driven by demand for high-quality space in highly amenitized buildings, Chicago’s downtown office market had a banner year in 2019, recording its strongest leasing volume — 10.4 million square feet — of the past decade, according to quarterly research from Taylor Johnson client Cushman & Wakefield. More than half of the new leases were in Class A buildings, supporting a robust construction pipeline that will add approximately 6.4 million square feet of space to the market by the end of 2022. Assisted by Taylor Johnson, Cushman & Wakefield shared its data and market commentary with  a range of media, securing coverage in GlobeSt.comConnect Chicago and the Chicago Sun-Times.

Cushman & Wakefield is currently leasing 800 Fulton, a 19-story, 450,000-square-foot office tower under construction in Chicago’s Fulton Market District.
