Big changes are in store for Chicago’s South Loop, and Taylor Johnson client Draper and Kramer, Incorporated, is among the developers looking to bridge the gap between downtown and the burgeoning entertainment district encompassing Motor Row and McCormick Place. The firm recently broke ground on 2111 S. Wabash, a 24-story, 275-unit apartment tower less than a block from the Cermak/McCormick Place Green Line station. Scheduled for completion in summer 2020, the transit-oriented development is the largest residential community built in the area since 2010. Taylor Johnson secured coverage in a number of outlets, including this feature in Curbed Chicago, as well as placements in Building Design + ConstructionChicago Architecture BlogChicago Construction NewsConnectCostarCrain’s Chicago BusinessMulti-Housing NewsThe Real Deal ChicagoREBusiness Online and RE Journals.

Part of the burgeoning entertainment district near McCormick Place, Draper and Kramer’s 2111 S. Wabash will feature a modern, asymmetric base, topped with a glass tower with a “sawtooth” facade that creates bays in individual residences.
