Taylor Johnson client Fifield Cos. is taking its successful luxury apartment model to the suburbs. Yesterday, the developer held a groundbreaking ceremony in Evanston for its latest project, E2. The 356-unit development will consist of two separate towers connected by a four-story parking garage and amenity deck, which will include all of the luxury perks that have become synonymous with Fifield developments, such as: a basketball court, theater, fitness center, business center and an outdoor pool and spa.  YoChicago has the details as well as footage from the event.

In other Fifield news, Crain’s reports that the company recently refinanced its loan on the 496-unit K2 Apartments development in Chicago. The refinance shows a significant jump in value as the new loan amount is 45 percent more than the project’s original loan.
