When Taylor Johnson client Evergreen Real Estate Group joined a team of public-private partners to transform the former Blommer Ice Cream Factory in Milwaukee as part of the new Legacy Lofts mixed-income rental community, team TJ knew media would want the scoop on this story. To celebrate the project’s grand opening, TJ dished up a press release sharing details of how the converted 1920s-era concrete and terra cotta structure, together with an adjacent new-construction building, brought 64 units of mixed-income housing and 1,500 square feet of street-level commercial space to the city’s Lindsay Heights neighborhood. Fifty four units are affordable to households earning 60% or less of the area median income, and the other 10 are market-rate units.
