Getting Old Gets A New Look
Taylor Johnson client Evergreen Real Estate Group is once again making national headlines with its latest project, Ravenswood Senior Living, a pioneering new model for senior living that addresses the nation’s growing affordability crisis. A collaboration between Evergreen and the Chicago Housing Authority (CHA), the $81 million project is a conversion of the former Ravenswood Hospital on Chicago’s North Side into a 193-unit senior housing community. The development is one of the first in the U.S. to combine two models of care in one: independent living for CHA residents, as well as supportive housing for participants in the Illinois Supportive Living Program, an alternative to nursing home care. We pitched the project to Bloomberg CityLab, which included Ravenswood Senior Living in a feature highlighting the demographic trends driving senior housing development, as well as how new approaches to housing design and operations can result in better outcomes for residents and the communities they call home.

Evergreen Real Estate Group is developing Ravenswood Senior Living, a new community at 4515 N. Winchester Ave. on Chicago’s North Side that will offer both independent and supportive living for low-income seniors.
