Consumers aren’t the only ones making purchases during the busy holiday shopping season. Continuing its expansion in the Milwaukee area, Taylor Johnson client HSA Commercial Real Estate recently closed on its acquisition of the Brookfield Fashion Center, a 217,346-square-foot shopping center in Brookfield, Wis. Together with partner Innovative Capital Advisors (ICA), HSA Commercial is planning a long-term redevelopment designed to reinvigorate the tenant mix, similar to the strategy employed at the firm’s newly rebranded Calhoun Crossing shopping center, also located in Brookfield. Including the firm’s other retail investments in nearby Greenfield and Wauwatosa, where it is developing The Mayfair Collection, HSA Commercial now has over 1 million square feet of retail and mixed-use property stabilized or under development in the Milwaukee area. The Milwaukee Business Journal, Brookfield Now, Greater Milwaukee Today, BizTimes.com, REJournals.com, GlobeSt.com and Heartland Real Estate Business were among the outlets that covered the firm’s latest acquisition.

Currently 97 percent leased, Brookfield Fashion Center has managed to retain several original tenants since it was completed in 1986, including Dress Barn, LensCrafters and Pier 1 Imports.
