KTGY-Designed Aperture Apartments Brings Art Into Focus
Renters are used to finding luxury apartment communities with unique amenities in high-density, urban areas. But what about the suburbs? Today, it’s becoming more common to find comparable amenities in locations like Reston, Va., a rapidlygrowing suburb of Washington, D.C. Located there is Aperture, a six-story, 421-unit rental property designed by the Tysons office of Taylor Johnson client KTGY Architecture + Planning. With an eye for design — and art — KTGY worked alongside the developers to plan this dynamic, art-infused community. Knowing the incorporation of art into suburban apartment design would lend itself to media coverage, we pitched and secured a “Where We Live” feature in theWashington Post.
