As apartment rents have soared to record highs, housing attainability has become a growing area of focus for multifamily developers and designers, especially those looking to serve low-income households that, by definition, are considered cost-burdened. Recognizing the challenge, Taylor Johnson client KTGY Architecture + Planning put its R+D Studio to work. The result? Co-Dwell, a concept that explores how co-living principles can be applied to create lower-cost units that maximize efficiency while considering the balance between private and shared space.
