Mayor Emanuel and Related Midwest Celebrate Tower Crane Install at One Bennett Park
Last week, Mayor Rahm Emanuel joined Taylor Johnson client Related Midwest in commemorating the installation of the tower crane at One Bennett Park
, the developer’s new Robert A.M. Stern-designed residential tower under construction at 451 E. Grand. The install was a milestone not just for One Bennett Park, slated to be Chicago’s tallest all-residential tower when completed in 2019, but also for the city, marking the 33rd tower crane to go up in 2016, a post-recession record. The Chicago Tribune was among the outlets that covered the press conference, which took place on the 12th-floor amenity deck at 500 Lake Shore Drive, offering a bird’s-eye view of the adjacent construction site.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Buildings Commissioner Judy Frydland joined Related Midwest in celebrating the tower crane install at One Bennett Park. The development will include 69 luxury condos and 279 apartments, as well as a 1.7-acre park designed by Michael Van Valkenburgh, the creator of Maggie Daley Park and The 606.
