It was a hot story on a hot day in Chicago when Taylor Johnson client M&R Development, in a joint venture with Bucksbaum Retail Properties, broke ground yesterday on Addison & Clark, a mixed-used complex across from Wrigley Field. City and state officials, including Mayor Rahm Emanuel — as well as TV news crews — were on hand for the groundbreaking event, where Addison & Clark’s first retail tenant was revealed. TJ invited the media and helped the Chicago Tribune break the news early in the day announcing the anchor tenant, while a follow-up story including video coverage outlined the details of this luxury rental and retail community (nice photobomb by TJ’s Kim Manning in the video). The airwaves were abuzz starting with the 6:00 a.m. news hour when CBS reporter Lauren Victory was on location at the southeast corner of Addison and Clark streets discussing the project. The coverage continued on NBC, CBS, FOX, ABC and WGN with midday and evening reports on the project.
