So, when Taylor Johnson client James McHugh Construction Co. began work on a boutique inn, spa and farm-to-table restaurant at Southhall, a farm-based resort nestled on 325 acres in the rolling hills of Tennessee, team TJ was quick to tell the media about it. First up for McHugh is the construction of four interconnected buildings using sustainable wood materials from managed forests, including heavy timber and cross-laminated timber. Scheduled for completion in spring 2022, the inn and spa at Southall will feature 62 guestrooms, an executive boardroom, breakfast and bourbon bar, and 3,700-square-foot signature restaurant featuring items grown on-site.
