When Taylor Johnson client Optima, Inc. first told us of its innovative plan to market private office suites at Optima Signature, its luxury rental tower in Chicago’s Streeterville neighborhood, as learning pods available to both Optima residents and families in the surrounding community, we knew reporters would want the scoop on this pandemic pivot. TJ worked with the Chicago Tribune on an exclusive highlighting how the flexible suites, which cost between $1,800 and $2,400 per month and include five to seven desks, could easily accommodate a small group of students for remote coursework led by a parent or tutor. The Tribune story was picked up by national sites like Yahoo News and MSN, and other stories soon followed in The Real Deal ChicagoWGN-AM RadioREBusinessOnlineChicago Architecture BlogConnect ChicagoRE Journals and the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat blog. Optima Signature’s learning pods provide dedicated desks for students doing e-learning, as well as access to select amenities in the tower such as an indoor basketball court and outdoor lounge areas for al fresco studying.
