The exit of Dominick’s from the Chicago grocery market has stirred up a great deal of real estate activity recently. As a dynamic range of rival grocers vie for the prime locations left vacant, area general contractors are receiving a boost from the remodels and renovations these spaces require. Bill Di Santo, president of Taylor Johnson client Englewood Construction, recently addressed Chicago’s changing grocery landscape on his company’s blog, Hard Hat Chat.  As Di Santo puts it…Chicago is no longer a two-store town.
