Steve Baird And Chicagoland’s Housing Outlook For This Fall

September 21, 2021

Coming off a hot summer housing market, we knew media would want to know what’s brewing this fall (other than pumpkin lattes). And there’s no other firm with such a long track record of forecasting housing trends than Taylor Johnson client Baird & Warner, so we pitched Steve Baird, president and CEO, to WGN Radio Wintrust Business Lunch for an insightful conversation about the Chicagoland market. As Baird explained on the show, the market continues to be vibrant and is running significantly higher than 2019 in terms of units sold and average sales prices. Baird also noted that multiple offers are still standard due to a scaled-down inventory, prompting many buyers to get creative in their offers. But WGN wasn’t the only place Baird was recently talking real estate. Just prior to his radio interview, TJ secured Baird the opportunity to share insights on the future of independent real estate brokerages with HousingWire for the story “Is 166-year-old Baird & Warner Ahead of Its Time?” The answer is yes.

Hear the full WGN interview from 13:20-20:56 here.

Steve Baird of Baird & Warner sees the Chicagoland market continuing to be vibrant this fall as inventory makes some gains and multiple offers dominate.
