Self-storage facilities are popping up all over the country, particularly in large urban areas with smaller living spaces. According to The Wall Street Journal, tight restrictions on design make it difficult for developers to receive approval for new self-storage facilities in key areas, so many are getting creative and disguising self-storage facilities as hotels, office buildings and other more aesthetically pleasing structures.
