It’s been less than a week since Taylor Johnson officially began working with Hubbard Street Group and already the Chicago-based developer is making headlines.

On the heels of last week’s announcement that Crate & Barrel is moving its Chicago office to The Fields, a 1.5 million-square-foot mixed-use complex at 4000 W. Diversey Ave., Hubbard Street Group was eager to announce its plans for the residential portion of the project. Scheduled to begin construction in March, The Fields Lofts will convert part of the former Marshall Field’s warehouse into 123 loft apartments and amenities including a rooftop deck, fitness center, co-working space and resident lounge. In March, Hubbard Street Group will begin converting a portion of the former Marshall Field’s warehouse at 4000 W. Diversey into 123 loft apartments. The redevelopment will take advantage of the structure’s expansive windows, 24-inch-round columns and 14- to 17-foot ceiling heights.
