A 7-acre parcel of land along the east bank of the Chicago River in the South Loop sat vacant for decades following the demolition of Chicago’s Grand Central Station in the early 1970s. It wasn’t until Taylor Johnson client Lendlease, a known expert in placemaking, and its partners imagined a viable plan for the site, known today as Southbank, that its future was realized. When the quickly developing new neighborhood caught the attention of Michigan Avenue magazine, TJ connected the publication with Lendlease to discuss the burgeoning community and the first of several residential towers to be built there, The Cooper at Southbank. The piece also discusses the publicly accessible Southbank Park and adjacent Riverwalk that are scheduled to be completed later this year. Read the resulting coverage here.

Upon completion, Southbank by Lendlease will include several residential towers situated around the 2-acre Southbank Park and Riverwalk, scheduled to be completed later this year.
