Luxury development will bring 54 extra-large residences to the rapidly growing neighborhood
Chicago-based Belgravia Group, Ltd. has announced a new upscale condominium development, CAX, in Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood.
Coming to 1032 – 1042 W. Jackson Ave., CAX is the firm’s seventh CA-branded development and designed for buyers seeking extra-large city homes as evident by its 48 4-bed/4.5-bath single-level residences and six 5-bed/5.5-bath penthouse duplex homes, with select residences offering private terrace space up to 3,800 square feet. All homes will also come with two indoor garage parking spaces.
“With CAX we are responding to the evolution of the West Loop as it becomes the city’s most desirable neighborhood, drawing from a wider pool of buyers than ever,” said Jon McCulloch, co-CEO at Belgravia Group, “When we introduced our first CA development a decade ago, three-bedroom condominiums were a rarity in the West Loop; we’ve since built nearly 300 of these residences and have watched as the demand for even larger homes has grown alongside the neighborhood itself. With CAX we are taking cues from the rapid sales of our largest homes at CA6, our nearly completed West Loop development, to meet the demand for four- and five-bedroom homes in the neighborhood.
Priced from $1.7 million, the 4-bed/4.5-bath floor plans at CAX start at 3,037 square feet and include an open-plan living, dining and kitchen area, plus a large family room; a dedicated office; ensuite baths in each bedroom; direct elevator access to a private vestibule shared with only one other residence; defined foyers; and two private outdoor spaces, including a 300-square-foot terrace off of the main living area that offers a gas hook-up for a grill and both covered and non-covered areas, plus a balcony toward the rear of the home near the bedrooms.
On the penthouse level, the 5-bed/5.5-bath duplex homes, priced around $3.2 million, range from 4,233 to 4,460 square feet and include the same floor plan features as the 4-bed homes. In addition to the extra bedroom and bath, these multilevel condominiums offer a larger kitchen with a breakfast nook, more-spacious primary suites with a large dressing area, and rooftop terraces with outdoor kitchens that add approximately 1,500 square feet of outdoor space to that of the two balconies.
Ample outdoor space is also a key feature of the development’s six terrace homes situated on the building’s second level. With front balconies as well as back terraces, these 4-bed/4.5-bath residences include a minimum of 1,800 square feet of outdoor space. The homes on the end tiers are a landscape lover’s paradise with wraparound terraces offering 2,900 to 3,800 square feet of outdoor space in addition to the front balconies.
When asked why not just name the development “CA7,” McCulloch responded, “The CA-branded residences we’ve developed over the years continue to be some of the most sought after three-bedroom homes in the city. These new homes are nearly ten feet wider – with an extra bedroom, family room and multiple private outdoor spaces – so we needed to communicate to the market that this building is different. It’s bigger, better and unique. This is why the “X” is raised above the “CA” in our logo; we’ve taken the best attributes of our popular three-bedroom homes and in every respect raised the bar, exponentially.”
Known for the high level of personalization it offers homeowners, Belgravia Group designed the floor plans with the flexibility to tailor layouts to differing needs. For example, CAX buyers can choose a floor plan that has the family room near the center of the home adjacent to the living, dining and kitchen area, or in a more secluded space toward the back of the residence. They can also remove dedicated office space to create larger family rooms or reduce the number of bedrooms to accommodate a larger primary suite, complete with a private sitting room.
