Nicholas & Associates, a full-service contractor providing comprehensive construction management, design/build and general contracting services with offices in Illinois, Wisconsin and Florida, today announced it will be holding subcontractor recruitment fairs for the construction of two junior high schools in Joliet, Ill., for Joliet Public Schools District 86. The recruitment fairs will be held May 28 at Hufford Junior High School and June 17 at Gompers Junior High School.
Nicholas & Associates is seeking certified MBE, WBE, DBE and other area subcontractors to submit bids for work on the projects, including excavation, site utilities, concrete, structural steel, mechanical/HVAC, electrical, plumbing, masonry, roofing, flooring, painting, fire protection, landscaping and asphalt paving.
The recruitment job fair will be held May 28 at 4:00 p.m. at Hufford Junior High School, 1125 N. Larkin Ave.; parking is available in the lot off of Ingalls Avenue. Nicholas & Associates will break ground on the new schools in September 2024. One school will replace the existing Hufford Junior High School with an approximately 165,400-square-foot junior high school. The second will replace Gompers Junior High School with an approximately 140,000-square-foot facility. Both schools will open in August 2026.
