Chicago-based Fifield Cos. today announced that Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams has signed a lease for ground-floor space at Logan Apartments, a new-construction apartment development located at 2480 – 2522 N. Milwaukee Ave., in Chicago’s Logan Square neighborhood. The artisanal ice cream company joins a mix of local businesses and national brands who will have storefronts at Logan Apartments, including a small-format Target that will serve as the building’s retail anchor.

Occupying 1,556 square feet, Jeni’s location at Logan Apartments will be the company’s eighth Chicago-area store. The company, a Certified B Corporation, was recently recognized as a Best For The World honoree by B Lab, scoring in the top 10% of all B Corporations for community impact, and is widely known for its social, environmental and business leadership. Jeni’s Logan Square location is expected to open by summer 2020.

Opening in March, Logan Apartments will bring to Logan Square studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments with luxury features like high ceilings, plank flooring, gourmet kitchens, in-unit laundry and walk-in closets with organizational systems. Built on the site of the former Mega Mall, the building’s interior incorporates into its design art and decorative fixtures from Chicago-based artisans.
Described by developer Fifield Cos. as a high-rise turned on its side to fit the neighborhood aesthetic, Logan Apartments includes many amenities found in upscale city-center buildings, such as a landscaped sun terrace with a pool, cabanas, grilling stations, fire pit, lounge areas and a dog run; resident lounge, party room and coffee bar; fitness center with state-of-the-art equipment; dedicated coworking space; and a conference center. Located along the Milwaukee bike corridor, the building will offer a secure bike room with approximately 188 spots and a bike “kitchen” for maintenance and repairs.
