Hinsdale, Ill.-based Foxford Communities has announced that it has started construction on a second custom quick-delivery home at Tarns of the Moor, a small enclave of elegant homes on 2- to 4-acre lots in Bannockburn, Ill. The first quick-delivery home Foxford built at Tarns of the Moor in the fall of 2014 sold within a month of starting construction.

“Buyers might not realize it, but winter is actually a good time to start construction on a new home,” said Peter Brennan, president of Foxford Communities. “A winter construction schedule ensures that the home will be completed by summer, allowing homeowners to settle in before the school year starts.”

Located off of Telegraph Road, just south of Half Day Road, Tarns of the Moor is a charming community made up of 10 2- to 4-acre lots surrounded by mature trees, sparkling streams and picturesque ponds that provide a natural and serene setting. Five of the lots have already been developed by North Shore luxury builder Orren Pickell. Foxford purchased the five remaining lots in 2013 and has already sold two. The three remaining lots are among the only approved home sites for new-construction available in Bannockburn.

“Bannockburn is an extraordinary North Shore community that prides itself on its sprawling lot sizes and meticulously designed houses and landscaping,” said Peter Brennan, president of Foxford Communities. “What makes Tarns of the Moor such a special community, and this early-delivery home such a great opportunity, is that we’ve already received approval to develop these lots. We’ve saved buyers months off the home-building cycle, not to mention building application fees.”

Lot prices at Tarns of the Moor start at $649,900, while home prices range from $1.9 million to $3 million. Home sizes range from 4,000 to 7,000 square feet. Foxford has partnered with Capital Custom Homes to design and build homes at the community.

“So much thought and detail has gone into creating a majestic, private neighborhood setting at Tarns of the Moor that we wanted to bring in a builder who would be able create homes that are just as grand as the community’s surroundings,” said Brennan. “Capital Custom Homes was a natural choice. The firm’s attention to detail and superb craftsmanship provide the type of luxury home buyers can expect in this ideal North Shore setting.”

The 6,000-square-foot immediate-delivery home includes five bedrooms and 5½ baths including a lavish master suite with raised ceilings and a fireplace. The master suite also showcases a spa-influenced master bath with separate vanities, an oversized soaking tub and separate shower and a spacious dressing area that leads into his-and-her walk-in closets. Upstairs are also three generous bedrooms that each include private baths and walk-in closets. A bonus room that can be used as a media room, playroom, home office or gym is also on the second floor.

Space is abundant on the home’s main floor, which in addition to numerous living spaces, includes a guest bedroom with a private bath and walk-in closet.

“The main floor provides optimal space for entertaining yet is flexible enough for casual relaxation with family and friends,” said Brennan. “For example, the gourmet kitchen includes a large kitchen island, breakfast area, walk-in pantry and butler pantry that also connects to a formal dining room, providing a convenient layout for entertaining.”

When it comes time to relax, the first floor offers several areas in the house like the hearth room, family room and library, which feature gas fireplaces and custom-crafted details such as beamed ceilings.

In addition, the home offers many family-friendly features like a four-car, side-loading garage that connects to the home via the mudroom and plenty of access to outdoor space with three covered porches off of the kitchen – perfect for alfresco dining – as well as the mudroom and front entrance of the home.

The home also includes superior finishes, including custom cabinets, hardwood floors throughout the main living area, stainless steel commercial-grade appliances, granite countertops and brick- or stone-type material on the exteriors.

Just 25 miles north of the Loop and located between the Tri-State Tollway and Route 41, Tarns of the Moor is a convenient location for commuters. The community is located near quality schools, including the top-ranking Deerfield High School, and entertainment, restaurants and shopping are just minutes away in the neighboring town of Deerfield.
