Addition of key leadership role comes on the heels of Miami office opening

Parker-Torres Design, an international hospitality interior design firm, today announced it has hired Carrie Tolman to serve as associate principal and director of luxury hospitality interiors. In the newly created director role, Tolman will oversee projects across Parker-Torres’ Boston, Chicago and newly opened Miami offices.

“Since joining Baker Barrios Architects as one of the firm’s studios, Parker-Torres has experienced significant growth, which has given us the opportunity to expand our leadership team,” said Barbara Parker, co-founder of Parker-Torres Design. “Carrie brings to this new role exceptional industry knowledge and experience that will be such an asset to our firm as well as our clients. With her discerning eye and holistic approach to designing luxury spaces that align with how people live and travel, Carrie is well known within the industry, and we’re so pleased to have her on our team.”

Parker-Torres’ expansion includes the recent opening of a Miami office, which positions the firm to better serve clients in South America, according to firm co-founder Miriam Torres. “Data shows a steady upward trajectory for the hospitality industry in Latin America,” said Torres. “Given our client list includes many of the top luxury brands in this sector, it made sense for us to expand our physical presence in Miami, increasing accessibility for our team in that region.”

Tolman shares Parker and Torres’ optimism: “It’s such an exciting time in the hospitality industry, particularly in the luxury sector, with greater focus on experiential travel as well as emerging destinations, and I’m excited to be joining a firm that is responding to the incredible design opportunities this brings,” she said. “Parker-Torres has a long history of truly impressive work, and I’m very happy to now be a part of shaping the firm’s future.”

Prior to joining Parker-Torres Design, Tolman spent 14 years at KTGY/Simeone Deary Design Group, most recently overseeing the newly formed residential interiors unit that leveraged the firm’s hospitality experience. She has received numerous industry awards, including several for her work on LondonHouse Chicago, The Union Club Hotel at Purdue University and the Marriott Austin in Austin, Texas. Active in the industry, Tolman previously served as a chair over scholarships for her local chapter of Network of Executive Women in Hospitality (NEWH) and continues to support the organization’s dedication to connecting the hospitality industry with passionate students.
