May 14 “Midnight Madness” Means Insane Deals at M/I Homes CommunitiesMay 13, 2016
The early bird may get the worm, but night owls will get the best deals on a new home during M/I Homes’ Annual Midnight Madness sale taking place Saturday, May 14. For this special promotion, sales centers at Chicago-area M/I Homes communities will be open from noon to midnight, with prospective homebuyers able to take advantage of a variety of special offers and deals* valid only during this 12-hour period, including paid closing costs and thousands of dollars in savings.
“We hold our Midnight Madness sale annually, and it always brings a whole new level of excitement to the already busy spring homebuying season,” said Curt VanHyfte, area president of M/I Homes. “This year’s event is even more special because it is part of our M/I Homes 40th anniversary celebration. The Midnight Madness sale is just one more way we’re saying thank you to our homebuyers during this milestone year for our company by helping them get a terrific deal on one of our homes.”
During the Midnight Madness sale, buyers can tour M/I Homes communities and learn what special deals and promotions are being offered at each one, including having their closing costs covered. While supplies last, prospective buyers will receive a free gift and can also enjoy complimentary pizza and refreshments that will be served at all sales centers at approximately 6:30pm. The Midnight Madness sale will include all 20 of M/I Homes’ active townhome and single-family home communities in the Chicago area.
“Part of the fun of the Midnight Madness sale is the element of surprise, since we don’t reveal exactly what the extra bonuses and savings are until the day of the promotion, and the special offers even vary by community,” said Cheryl Bonk, vice president of sales and marketing for M/I Homes. “In past years, buyers have been delighted to come into our sales centers for Midnight Madness and discover what discounts and special offers they will receive. What we do share in advance is that M/I Homes will be paying various amounts of closing costs for buyers during the Midnight Madness sale when they use M/I Financial, a subsidiary of M/I Homes that offers financial services and mortgage programs. That can mean a savings of thousands of dollars and, in many cases, help buyers move past one final financial hurdle in buying their own home.”
Bonk added that Midnight Madness is an excellent opportunity for those who are already considering purchasing at an M/I Homes community as well as buyers just starting out on their search for a new home. “This sale is a great reason to visit one of our communities and find out how we can help stretch their homebuying power even further,” she said.

Homes at all M/I Homes communities come standard with the builder’s industry-leading 15-Year Transferable Structural Warranty, which not only allows buyers to purchase with confidence, but also adds value if the home is sold in the future. All homes are also WHOLE HOME Certified, an M/I Homes designation indicating the builder’s superior approach when constructing homes. Upon testing, an M/I home will receive a more favorable HERS (Home Energy Rating System) score than an Energy Star-certified home, which can save buyers upwards of 30 percent on their energy bills. A lower HERS Index means lower energy costs, and on average an M/I home achieves a HERS rating of 57, considerably lower than other resale homes and other builders in the market.
