M/I Homes Grand Opens Lehigh Station in Aurora, Unveils New Decorated Townhome Model at March 19 Event

March 18, 2015

M/I Homes announces it will unveil a new decorated townhome model and host a VIP event on March 19 to celebrate the grand opening of Lehigh Station, a new community of 40 maintenance-free townhomes in Aurora, Ill., located less than one mile from the Route 59 BNSF Railway Metra station.
The grand opening event, which will include a ribbon cutting ceremony, free raffle prizes, and gourmet appetizers and beverages, will also be the first opportunity for prospective buyers to tour the new decorated townhome model. Those interested in being placed on the guest list for the invitation-only event can visit or contact Nicole Skrocki at (630) 605-8271 to register.

“For the past few years, Aurora has consistently ranked as one of Chicago’s most in-demand suburbs thanks to its strong schools, vibrant downtown, plentiful shopping and dining options, and access to Metra and major expressways,” said Ron Martin, region president of M/I Homes. “With Lehigh Station we’re introducing a new residential option that gives buyers all the things they’ve come to expect from Aurora, plus a terrific location that’s walkable to the train, Fox Valley Mall and other conveniences in the area.”

According to Chicago Agent Magazine, Aurora was Chicago’s top-selling suburban market for all of 2014 as well as for the first two months of 2015. “One reason Aurora continues to dominate the suburban market is that it appeals to such a broad spectrum of buyers,” noted Martin. “That wide appeal was top of mind when we designed our floor plans for Lehigh Station, and we think anyone from first-time buyers and growing families to downsizers will love these homes.”

Lehigh Station offers buyers the choice of three townhome floor plans, which measure 1,730 to 2,245 square feet and are base-priced from $269,990. The townhomes have two to three bedrooms, 2½ baths, finished lower levels and attached two-car garages, and also feature great rooms, loft areas and second-floor laundry rooms, per plan.

The decorated model at Lehigh Station features the Cullerton floor plan, an end-unit design base-priced from $304,990. Measuring 1,965 square feet, the Cullerton features an island kitchen open to a great room as well as a separate living room with 14-foot ceilings. The model also shows the Cullerton’s finished basement decorated as a game room, demonstrating the extra living space in the home.

“Another extra space in this plan is the loft area on the upper level, which homeowners can set up as a home office or simply use as a quiet reading nook set apart from the rest of the home,” said Cheryl Bonk, vice president of sales and marketing for M/I Homes. “We love adding these versatile areas to our townhome designs because buyers are able to interpret the space in whatever way best fits their lifestyle.”

The Cullerton’s upper level also has a second-floor laundry room and two bedrooms, including the master suite with an optional luxury master bath with walk-in shower and separate soaking tub.

Upgraded features and finishes showcased in the model include stainless steel appliances, a fireplace in the living room, hardwood flooring, and stained stair rails with decorative iron spindles.

Lehigh Station is located within the highly acclaimed Indian Prairie School District 204 and is served by May Watts Elementary School, Hill Middle School and Metea Valley High School.

In addition to its proximity to the Route 59 Metra station, the community is also centrally located near Interstate 88, Route 59 and Ogden Avenue. With both the Route 59 corridor and Westfield Fox Valley Mall nearby, Lehigh Station is in the heart of one of Aurora’s largest shopping, dining and entertainment districts.

Homes at all M/I Homes communities come standard with the builder’s industry-leading 30-Year Transferable Structural Warranty, which not only allows buyers to purchase with confidence, but also adds value if the home is sold in the future. All homes are also WHOLE HOME Certified, an M/I Homes designation indicating the builder’s superior approach when constructing homes. Upon testing, an M/I home will receive a more favorable HERS (Home Energy Rating System) score than an Energy Star-certified home, which can save buyers upwards of 30 percent on their energy bills. A lower HERS Index means lower energy costs, and on average an M/I home achieves a HERS rating of 60, considerably lower than other builders in the market.

To be placed on the guest list for the March 19 grand opening celebration for Lehigh Station, please visit or call Nicole Skrocki at (630) 605-8271. The event will take place from 4:30 – 8 p.m. in the new model home and sales center, located at 847 Station Boulevard in Aurora, at the southeast corner of Liberty Street and Station Boulevard.
